About John C Tripp, DDS

Many members of Dr. John Tripp’s family are business owners, so it’s no wonder he followed their entrepreneurial example and opened his own dental practice. The Macon, GA native chose to do it in New Orleans, LA, a city he fell in love with while attending Xavier University on a tennis scholarship.

After graduating from Xavier, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, TN. He then completed a general practice residency (GPR) program in Brooklyn, NY. The GPR gives participants the advanced training and experience they’ll need to provide a broad spectrum of dental services. Dr. Tripp spent several years working as an associate before following his entrepreneurial dream of opening his own practice. He now enjoys helping those kinds of dreams come true for dental students from his alma mater by welcoming them to do externships at his office.

Dr. Tripp remains involved with continuing education in all areas of dentistry because he feels it’s important to stay informed of the latest techniques to give his patients the best treatment possible. He has completed more than 500 hours of continuing education, enough to earn his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, an achievement earned by only about 6 percent of general dentists in North America. He also believes in using state-of-the-art digital technology in his New Orleans office. He truly loves helping his patients build their confidence, one tooth at a time.

In his spare time, Dr. Tripp enjoys working out, running, and watching football.

Dental Implant Procedures by Dr Tripp

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a root-form titanium screw that is surgically placed in the jaw to create an anchor for teeth to be built upon. Dental implants are considered the best way to replace missing teeth.procedure before image Dental Implantsprocedure after image Dental Implants

Single Posterior Implant

The majority of dental implants involve the replacement of a back tooth. Referred to as a single posterior implant, this procedure is typically less complex and less costly than many people expect.procedure before image Single Posterior Implantprocedure after image Single Posterior Implant

Front Tooth Implant

Dental implants are an excellent option for replacing a missing front tooth in most cases. Front tooth implants are not as common as dental implants replacing missing molars or back teeth.procedure before image Front Tooth Implantprocedure after image Front Tooth Implant

Tooth Extractions

Sometimes referred to as “having a tooth pulled,” a tooth extraction is a very common oral surgical procedure in which a natural tooth is removed from the jaw. An implant may be placed after adequate healing time.procedure before image Tooth Extractionsprocedure after image Tooth Extractions

Socket Preservation

Socket preservations are simple bone grafting procedures done in conjunction with tooth extractions. The goal of socket preservation is to preserve bone for a future dental implant to be placed.procedure before image Socket Preservationprocedure after image Socket Preservation

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a cap or cover that protects the tooth and restores it to mimic natural shape, size, and function. Crowns are make of zirconia or porcelain and can be either cemented or screw-retained.procedure before image Dental Crownsprocedure after image Dental Crowns

Screw Retained Crowns

A screw-retained implant crown is a single-tooth fixed restoration that is secured to a dental implant by means of a screw. Screw retained crowns are popular due to the proven long-term success they deliver.procedure before image Screw Retained Crownsprocedure after image Screw Retained Crowns

Cemented Crowns

A cemented crown is a dental crown that is secured to a dental implant using a luting agent similar to dental crowns cemented onto natural teeth. Cemented crowns are beautiful, functional, and extremely durable.procedure before image Cemented Crownsprocedure after image Cemented Crowns

Dental Bridges

An implant bridge or dental bridge is a permanent option that replaces multiple missing teeth. It literally bridges areas that are missing one or more teeth and fill in larger spaces with natural looking crowns.procedure before image Dental Bridgesprocedure after image Dental Bridges

Implant Cosmetics

The goal of implant cosmetic dentistry is to create tooth-like restorations that are strong, mimic natural beauty and completely restore natural function. Think of cosmetic dentistry as plastic surgery for teeth.procedure before image Implant Cosmeticsprocedure after image Implant Cosmetics
